Custom food containers questions, answered.
Everything buyers ask before they order — minimums, timings, artwork and print options.
What is the minimum order?
Just 12 containers, with tiers that fall steeply for foodservice groups, contract caterers and returnable programmes. Programme orders get their pairings and sizes held on file from the first run.
How fast will my containers arrive?
Your free mockup lands within 24 hours and orders ship in about 2 weeks, express available. Bases and lids have separate lead times, which is exactly why we quote and schedule them as a pair rather than letting them drift apart.
Why do you always quote the base and the lid together?
Because they are two different items with two different lead times, and the classic failure in this category is a storeroom full of bases and no lids. Pairing them on the quote, in the case and on your account removes the possibility entirely.
Will a lid from another supplier fit?
Usually not, however similar it looks. Sealing rims differ by fractions of a millimetre between tools, and a nearly-fitting lid is worse than an obviously wrong one because it fails in a delivery bag rather than on a bench. Tell us if you are mixing suppliers and we will be straight about it.
What are nest ratio and stack load?
Nest ratio is how tightly the empties stack into each other, which decides how much shelf your stock costs you. Stack load is how much weight a full container’s lid carries before the one beneath deforms, which decides what a delivery bag looks like on arrival. Both are real specifications and almost nobody quotes them.
Is microwave-safe the same as oven-safe?
No. They are different temperature regimes and different material properties, and a container rated for a microwave may deform badly in an oven. We state each rating separately per material and will not let one be read as the other.
Are your containers recyclable?
That depends on your local collection stream, not on the resin, and any supplier who answers with a flat yes is overstating it. We tell you exactly which material a container is made from so you can check what your own waste contractor actually accepts — which is the only answer that is true where you are.
Do you make takeout boxes, clamshells, trays or cups?
No. Folded card boxes and hinged clamshells, open trays and drinkware are each their own craft with their own specialists, and we would rather point you at one than sell a compromise. We make rigid containers with separate matched lids.
